Travel Experience

Join us on the inaugural 16-day adventure of ΢ÃÜÆƽâ's backpacking series - this year it will be across four countries in Europe! Explore the ancient marvels of Rome, Italy, the artistic wonders of Paris, France, and the historic charm of Prague, Czech Republic. We'll travel seamlessly by train, plane, and foot, with captivating stops in Strasbourg and Munich as added bonuses. Join us for the first chapter of our epic journey, discovering iconic landmarks and cultural gems throughout Europe, Global Greyhound style! 

NOTE: "Backpacking" is just a categorization of our travel program. We will not require travelers to only travel with a backpack.

All the landmarks mentioned in this itinerary will be visited. Some changes may be made in the order they will be visited depending upon the weather. 

Day 1: Depart from the US to Rome, with an overnight flight.

Day 2: Arrive in Rome, check in to your accommodation, and spend the afternoon exploring nearby areas like the Spanish Steps or Piazza Navona. Enjoy dinner at a local trattoria as a group.

Day 3: Begin the day with a tour of the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. Visit the Pantheon and Piazza Venezia in the afternoon, then perhaps enjoy gelato by the Trevi Fountain. Evening is free.

Day 4: Tour Vatican City, including St. Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican Museums, and the Sistine Chapel. In the afternoon, visit Castel Sant’Angelo and the Tiber River.

Day 5: In the morning, participate in a walking tour of the Trastevere neighborhood and Jewish Quarter. Afternoon is free. 

Day 6: Fly from Rome to Paris and check in to our accommodation. Attend an in-country orientation for France, then spend the evening on a scenic boat ride along the Seine River.

Day 7: Visit iconic Paris landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and the Champs-Élysées. Explore the Arc de Triomphe and the nearby Tuileries Garden. End the day with a visit to the Louvre Museum. Enjoy a macaron tasting, where we will test which bakery has the best macaron!

Day 8: Begin the day with a visit to the Louvre Museum. Explore the Montmartre district, including Sacré-Cœur and Place du Tertre. In the afternoon, visit Musée d'Orsay and relax by the Seine.

Day 9: Spend the day at Versailles Palace and Gardens. In the evening, return to Paris and enjoy dinner as a group.

Day 10: Take a morning train from Paris to Strasbourg. Spend the afternoon exploring Strasbourg’s Old Town and visit the Cathedral. In the evening, relax along the canals.

Day 11: Travel from Strasbourg to Munich (around 4 hours by train). Check in to our accommodation and explore Marienplatz and the surrounding area. Enjoy a traditional Bavarian dinner.

Day 12: Depart from Munich and travel to Prague by train. Spend the afternoon exploring Prague’s Old Town Square and Charles Bridge. Enjoy dinner by the Vltava River or in Old Town.

Day 13: Take a walking tour of Old Town, then visit Prague Castle and St. Vitus Cathedral. In the afternoon, explore the Jewish Quarter and take a relaxing walk through Letná Park.

Day 14: Day trip to Olomouc (about 3 hours by train), a UNSECO World Heritage site and the home of one of our exchange partners, Palacky University.  Return to Prague in the evening. 

Day 15: Enjoy a final day in Prague with a visit to the Lennon Wall and a stroll through the Mala Strana district.  In the evening, have a farewell dinner in the city.

Day 16: Depart Prague and fly back to the US.
