Moravian College announces grant award from APTA Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy

Bethlehem, PA, October 29, 2019: Today, Moravian College announced that the has awarded a $9,971 grant for the project titled “Participation of students with disabilities on school trips: Parent experiences and perceptions” authored by Kimberly D. Wynarczuk, PT, PhD, PCS, MPH with contributions from Eric J. Sanders, Ph.D., CCC-SLP and Ann Marie Potter, PhD, OTR/L from Moravian College.


“This grant from the APTA Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy is a great validation of the collaborative, interprofessional programs we are building within our department here at Moravian College,” said James Scifers, chair of the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at Moravian College.  “Recognition like this from a national organization demonstrates how the department’s approach to educating future health care professionals in an interprofessional environment is truly revolutionary.”  


The Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy is headquartered in Fairfax, VA and states their mission is to advance pediatric physical therapy through excellence in advocacy, education, and research.  The Academy bestows service awards, research awards, clinician awards and scholarships and grants each year after reviewing nominations submitted by members.
