The ceremony will mark the completion of the school’s 275thacademic year
BETHLEHEM, PA., May 11, 2017—Today, Moravian College announced it will hold commencement exercises on Saturday, May 13, beginning at 10:00 a.m., on John Makuvek Field on the . The ceremony will conclude the 275th academic year at Moravian College.
In the event of rain, the program will be held in Johnston Hall, also on the Main Street Campus. Moravian College President Bryon L. Grigsby ’90 will confer degrees to approximately 460 bachelor’s degree candidates, and 62 graduate degree candidates. The ceremony will also include a reading, Benigna von Zinzendorf’s Call for Education, from Cynthia Kosso, Provost and Dean of the Faculty.
In honor of a longstanding Moravian College tradition, the graduating class elected a student and a faculty member to speak at the commencement ceremony. A graduate student has also been selected to provide remarks.
Angelo Nicholas Fattore ’17, a business management major who just completed Moravian’s first international co-op experience, will serve as the Class Student Speaker for 2017. Master of Science in Nursing candidate Stephanie Lynn Wallbillich will speak on behalf of the graduate students.
The graduating class elected faculty member Katie P. Desiderio, Associate Professor of Economics and Business, to deliver the Statement from the Faculty.
The Moravian College baccalaureate service will be held on Friday, May 12, at 5:00 p.m., in , on W. Church Street in Bethlehem, Pa. The program will include a call to mindfulness, musical offerings, a reading, remarks, student reflection and a charge to the graduates.
