Transportation Policy
΢ÃÜÆƽâ Police Department Protocol for Request for Student Transport
As a courtesy, upon request, the ΢ÃÜÆƽâ Police Department will attempt to accommodate a student’s request for transport while traveling on or between the various ΢ÃÜÆƽâ campuses. Such transport will be made when there is ample coverage on campus and the campus is not left unprotected while the transport is being made. Upon receiving a request for a transport, the dispatcher will advise the student if their request will be accommodated, based on officer availability at the time of the request.
The ΢ÃÜÆƽâ Police Department will provide a courtesy transport of students when possible, under the following conditions:
- When a student expresses a concern for their safety while traveling on or between the various ΢ÃÜÆƽâ campuses, including the parking lots utilized by our campus constituents.
- When a student needs a ride while traveling on or between the various ΢ÃÜÆƽâ campuses, outside of the shuttle’s normal service hours of operation.
- When a student with an approved accommodation needs a ride while traveling on, between, or in close proximity to the various ΢ÃÜÆƽâ campuses.
The aforementioned information about transports is not all inclusive. It is meant to provide guidelines and outlines the most frequently received requests by ΢ÃÜÆƽâ Police Department for transport. If a request is received which is not mentioned above, the request will be reviewed by the shift supervisor who will determine if ΢ÃÜÆƽâ Police Department is able to provide the transport.
