Accelerated BSN Program FAQs

What grades must I have to be considered competitive to apply to this program?

The better your grades were in your previous degree program, the better your chances to be admitted to this program. The minimum acceptable cumulative quality point average (QPA) is 2.75 and you must have met minimum standards with your prerequisite coursework too. If you have specific questions about the application process or wish to have your transcripts “unofficially” evaluated, you may contact our Program Coordinator.

You may meet the requirement to complete the equivalent of Lifespan Development (PSYCH 207) by achieving a minimally acceptable score on the examination for Human Growth and Development.

I did not complete my bachelor’s degree at a university in the United States. May I still be considered for acceptance into this program?

Yes, but the process for evaluating your transcripts is different and will take more time. You should consider giving yourself additional time to submit your application materials, rather than waiting until you are close to the deadline. Your transcripts must be evaluated by the World Education Services ().

How many students will enroll in each class/cohort?

We will accept no more than 48 students in each class or cohort. We are a small college with a small nursing program. We prefer to keep all of our classes small and intimate so we can provide the type of individualized educational experience that ΢ƽ provides all its students.

Where are the clinical agencies where I will practice as a student nurse? How will I get to my clinical sites?

Students will be placed in a variety of clinical agencies throughout the greater Lehigh Valley area. However, the majority of inpatient hospital-based experiences will be at  and Lehigh Valley Health Network. On average, students will log up to three days or 24 hours of clinical work each week. Although it may be possible to sometimes carpool with other students, each individual student is responsible for providing her/his own transportation. Some assigned clinical agencies may be as far as 30 miles or a 45-minute drive from campus. Maps, driving, and parking directions will be provided for each clinical agency by the course faculty. Each clinical agency is carefully selected by the nursing faculty based upon its ability to meet students’ learning objectives, staff's responsiveness to hosting student guests, and generally safe location.
