Internships
The Sociology and Anthropology Department internship is available as an elective course for the major. Students who wish to take part in the internship program should register for SOC 375. The course requires 160 hours on-site as well as weekly classroom meetings. Each student must make arrangements for his or her own internship, including contacting the internship agency and submitting all required application materials required by that agency, before the semester of the internship begins.
Students have the option of proposing internship sites that correspond with their own professional interests or performing their internships at an agency with which the Sociology and Anthropology Department has an established relationship. For those who select the second of these options, the following agencies have internships available during most semesters. For further information, look through the Fieldwork Opportunity Folder in the Sociology lounge located on the third floor of PPHAC.
