Students who have not completed any college level courses beyond high school will be considered for a freshman admission award. Incoming first-time freshman for the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters will be considered for the awards below. 

Students who have completed any college level courses beyond high school will be considered for a transfer admission award. High school GPA may be required (to weight the university GPA) for review of scholarships for students with less than 24 credits earned prior to transfer.

΢ÃÜÆƽâ Community Scholarship - The ΢ÃÜÆƽâ Community Scholarship is a two year, full tuition scholarship (does not include fees, room or board) awarded to one Northampton Community College (NCC) student and one Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) student wishing to continue their education in the fall of 2024. Community College Fellows Scholarship - Students transferring from a community college with superior academic achievements and who are active members of PTK are eligible to receive up to $27,000 annually. ~ Limited number of Fellows Scholarships available.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship - Students transferring from a community college who are active members of Phi Theta Kappa are eligible to receive a merit scholarship of up to $23,000 annually.

Founders Scholarship - Students transferring from a four-year institution are eligible to receive a merit scholarship up to $27,000 annually.

International students who are admitted to Moravian as a traditional full-time student will be reviewed for an admission scholarship by their admission counselor. Awards range from $5,000 to $25,000 per year.

BASD Superintendent’s Scholarship - ΢ÃÜÆƽâ, in partnership with the Bethlehem Area School District (BASD), annually will offer one full-tuition, four-year scholarship to a Liberty High School graduating senior and one full-tuition, four-year scholarship to a Freedom High School graduating senior. The recipient of the BASD Superintendent's Scholarship receives full tuition to ΢ÃÜÆƽâ, room and board is not included.

The Legacy Award – Awarded to incoming full-time undergraduate students whose sibling, parent, grandparent, and/or great-grandparent is currently attending or has graduated from ΢ÃÜÆƽâ.  This includes alumni of all graduate programs and the Moravian Theological Seminary. Eligible recipients who have more than one sibling, parent, or grandparents alum can receive up to $3,000 for the academic year and eligible recipients who have one sibling, parent, or grandparents alum may receive up to $2,000 for the academic year.

The Moravian Church Scholarship – Awarded to incoming full-time undergraduate students who are officially documented members of a Moravian Church congregation. Eligible recipients receive up to $2,000 annually. A letter from the pastor of the congregation must accompany the application for admission. A student may retain their Moravian Church Scholarship for up to five years of full-time undergraduate enrollment.

Decision Award - Awarded to incoming full-time undergraduate freshman who applied as Early Action and made their commitment (deposit) to Moravian on or before December 15th.

Partnership Award - Awarded to incoming full-time undergraduate freshman whose parent works at one of our valued partners such as Lehigh Valley Health Network or St. Luke’s Hospital Network. Students should indicate their parent’s place of employment on their admission application.

Moravian Grants are need-based aid and determined by the information on the FAFSA. No other forms are required. Grants are reviewed annually based on the FAFSA which should be completed, and additional information submitted (if requested), prior to the deadline for returning students. Award amounts are listed for the academic year. Traditional full-time undergraduate students are considered for these awards.

Housing-related grants, such as the RA grant or MU Grant, may be adjusted if the student moves in or out of housing. 

Annual and Endowed Scholarships - ΢ÃÜÆƽâ is grateful to be able to offer over $2M per year through annual and endowed scholarships made possible through the generosity of friends of the University.  All students receive automatic consideration for these scholarships, and there is no student-initiated application process. The Financial Aid Office will identify a pool of candidates for each scholarship and, except where otherwise stipulated by the donor, select the candidate that most closely matches the donor-established criteria. Scholarship recipients will be notified via a scholarship award letter.  Whether or not the award may be renewed and the criteria for renewal are established by the donor.

- This need-based grant pays up to $7,395 annually for a maximum of 6 years based on full-time enrollment. Part-time students may be eligible to receive the Pell Grant until they have reached the equivalent of 6 full-time years. Award amounts are based on the Student Aid Index (SAI)) from the FAFSA as well as enrollment status.

- Students who show exceptional need may receive this award ranging from $100 to $1,500 annually. Federal Pell Grant recipients with the lowest student aid indexes are among the first to receive FSEOG. This award is available in limited amounts and is awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis to the students who exhibit the most need.

- The Pennsylvania State Grant is funded by the Commonwealth and awarded by the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) to undergraduate Pennsylvania residents who demonstrate high financial need. Students must apply through PHEAA each year.

- The Chafee Program offers grant assistance to Pennsylvania undergraduate students aging out of foster care who are attending an approved Federal Title IV postsecondary institution. Students must apply through PHEAA each year.

- The Ready to Succeed Scholarship program is funded by the Commonwealth and awarded by PHEAA to assist high achieving middle-income students.

- The Blind or Deaf Higher Education Beneficiary Grant (BDBG) Program is a Commonwealth funded program that provides financial assistance to deaf or blind students attending a postsecondary institution. Students must apply through PHEAA each year.

- The Fostering Independence Tuition Waiver Program provides a waiver for tuition and mandatory fees charged by most postsecondary institutions located in the Commonwealth for youth who are or were in foster care. Students must apply through PHEAA each year.

- PHEAA partners with non-profit, community-based Pennsylvania organizations and foundations to provide Pennsylvania students attending eligible Pennsylvania postsecondary institutions with matching funds through the PATH Grant Program.

- Together with the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, PHEAA administers this tuition assistance program for students who enter into a service commitment with the Pennsylvania National Guard for a period of 6 years.

- Together with the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, PHEAA administers this tuition assistance program for dependents (spouses and children) of PA Guard Members who enter into an additional 6-year service commitment with the Pennsylvania National Guard.

State Grant Programs for Non-Pennsylvania Residents  - You should review the website of your home state to determine if you may be eligible for grants from your home state. 

Scholarships from outside (an external provider) sources can be a great way to help pay for your education. There are plenty of opportunities to earn free money for college—you just have to be patient and persistent! Don't be afraid to apply for the lower amounts of outside resources for $500 - $2,000 (in addition to the bigger awards worth $5,000+). Every dollar counts, and even small scholarships add up!

΢ÃÜÆƽâ participates in the SAGE Scholars Tuition Rewards program, a national consortium of private colleges and universities that encourages families to save for higher education and to attend member institutions. The program is a collaboration of colleges, financial and insurance organizations, employee benefit plans, and Pennsylvania's 529 College Savings plan. Tuition Rewards are included in the formulation of your financial aid offer.
